Eligible Merchant Category Codes (MCCs)

Merchant Category Codes (MCCs) are four-digit numbers assigned to healthcare providers—like doctors, dentists, hospitals, and pharmacies—that classify the type of medical service or product you’re purchasing. 

When you swipe or enter your PayWoot Health Spending Card, the system checks the Merchant Category Code (MCC) assigned to that provider. If the code matches a qualified healthcare category—like physician services, dental care, pharmacy, or hospital visits—the transaction is approved. If the MCC falls outside of healthcare, the card will decline, ensuring your card is only used for qualified medical expenses.
